Where Pilates uses the mind to consciously train the body, you could see Yoga as the other way around; using the body to influence the mind.

We change the body’s chemistry when we move; depending on the quality of the movement, the position of the body and the breath,  we can calm or energise the body. As the mind is influenced by the body's chemistry, we therefor change the mind through the body.

The science of yoga has its origin thousands of years ago. The word ‘Yoga’ is derived from the Sanskrit root ‘Yuj’, meaning ‘to join’ or ‘to yoke’ or ‘to unite’; The body, mind and spirit are seen as one. While physical and mental health are natural consequences of yoga, the goal of yoga is more far-reaching. Yoga is about harmonizing oneself with the universe. .
